How to read the version on the menu

Before you blame a gun, a revive, or a perk machine, check the live version. On the menu screen the current game version sits in the lower-right corner. Named titles such as Model 1887 sit next to a lettered build: v1.0 is the day-one drop, v1.0a is the first hotfix, v1.1 is a later content pass. If your lobby still shows an older string, you are not on the patch your squad is talking about. Leave and rejoin, or wait for Roblox to finish replicating the place.

That string is the only in-game source of truth. The Roblox game page does not always list hotfix letters, and YouTube thumbnails lag by weeks. If a teammate says “the lever shotgun is weak,” ask which letter they are on: the Model 1887 received a damage buff in v1.0a on June 25, 2026, two weeks after it shipped.

A major update usually adds one Mystery Box headliner plus animation work. Lettered hotfixes then land for revives, Pack-a-Punch modules, and perk checks. That pattern repeated in 2024 (Honey Badger, Glock Expansion), late 2025 (RPG-7, Frontier), and 2026 (Wetwork, Foam, Model 1887). Gun patches belong next to the weapon tier list. Perk patches belong next to how to get perks. Revive patches mean you re-test a high-round train. Round scaling (150 HP, speed cap at 10, 24 on the map) has stayed put; breakpoints against that curve have not.

After you patch in

Confirm the menu version, skim the changelog, then decide if the new gun is a box chase. Most new box weapons are not Frostbite. Use getting started if doors or HUD prompts moved, and controls if binds changed. YouTube “new gun” clips often show an older letter — the Model 1887 page even embeds the RPG-7 video. For a record attempt, freeze one lettered build for the whole run; mixing v1.0 and v1.0a on the lever shotgun is enough to fake a damage nerf.
