How to Pack-a-Punch

Pack-a-Punch is the 5,000-point machine that turns a keeper gun into the version you can take past round 20. Each upgrade is one-way, adds a unique module, and fattens the magazine. Power has to be on. If you are still learning doors, finish Getting Started first. Interact is hold F; controls covers the prompt.

Three badges sit on this route. Lock and Load is a wall-weapon buy. The Box is a Mystery Box spin at 950. Upgrade is using Pack-a-Punch. Do not spend the 5,000 on the starter Beretta M9.

Graduation: key, storage door, harvester

  1. Open doors to the power room and flip the switch. It is free. The first Mystery Box spawn often sits in the same room.
  2. Interact with the small silver key in that power room.
  3. Return to the classroom spawn. The locked storage door is in that starting classroom. Hold F with the key.
  4. Inside, the machine is dark. Interact with the harvester jar on the shelf.
  5. Kill nearby zombies until essence hits 100% and you hear the cue. The machine lights up.
  6. Hold F: Pack-a-Punch, 5,000 points, one weapon at a time.

The storage room is a closet. Do not train in it. Leave a crawler in the hall, punch, and leave before 24 zombies funnel through one door. Bank the 5,000 on the library loop in how to train zombies.

Research: stairs, four consoles, 75-second window

  1. Flip the power switch in the labs (past the long corridor, next to a teleporter).
  2. In the testing chamber, divert four green consoles: two on the floor (decontamination and staircase) and two on the upper catwalk.
  3. Screens turn red. Bars on the central teleporter fill.
  4. The machine sits under the testing-chamber stairs. After the fourth console, teleporters link to that room and the machine stays powered about 75 seconds.
  5. Portal or stairs, spend 5,000, leave. Divert again for the next gun.

Do not stand in the stair closet during a full horde. Research corridors are the train; PAP is a drive-through. Start the punch as soon as you land so the 75-second window does not expire mid-animation.

What the upgrade actually does

Each weapon gets a named module: extra damage, a bigger magazine, more reserve ammo, and a unique trick. Wonder weapons change identity. Frostbite becomes Absolute Zero. The Ray Gun becomes Iscariot’s Kiss. Those two are the box goals worth 5,000 first. The weapons tier list and weapons and Mystery Box pages list the rest of the pool.

If the gun was a wall buy, restock at that sign for half the weapon price. If it came from the box, Max Ammo is the refill. Reload before you grab Max Ammo; the drop fills reserves, not the magazine. That matters more on a six-shot Frostbite than on an MP5.

You can punch each weapon once. There is no second tier. Packing the M9 is a meme unless you already have a real gun in the other slot.

When to upgrade

Upgrade when power is on and the machine is lit (Graduation essence done, or Research’s 75-second window live); you have a keeper (Frostbite, Ray Gun, or a wall gun you will live on); you still have 2,500 for Juggernog if you lack perks; and someone is watching the door. Solo players leave a crawler. Co-op players should not all walk into the closet.

Do not punch on round 8 just because you hit 5,000. Doors, Jug, and a wall ammo gun still beat an upgraded M9. Do punch as soon as a wonder weapon lands and the machine is up.

The Upgrade badge pops on the first successful use. Pair it with Lock and Load and The Box on the all badges route. A tidy Graduation run is wall gun, one box spin after round 6, key, essence, punch the box gun. Then play the match instead of screenshotting badges while the library fills up.

Pack-a-Punch is not a camp spot, not a third perk, and not a reason to ignore the 24-zombie cap. It is a 5,000-point module printer behind a key or a 75-second portal. Bring a keeper, bring Jug, bring an exit, and put the upgraded barrel back into the loop before the closet becomes a coffin. The round 50 badge lives on the high-round page, not inside the storage room.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for perks, Mystery Box pulls, and high-round survival.

How much does Pack-a-Punch cost?

5,000 points per weapon, once. Power must be on. Graduation also needs the silver key, the storage door, and a full essence harvester.

Where is the silver key on Graduation?

In the power room with the switch. Take it, then unlock the storage door in the classroom spawn. The machine is inside that closet.

How do I open Pack-a-Punch on Research?

Flip the labs switch, divert all four testing-chamber consoles, then enter the room under the stairs during the 75-second teleporter window.

Which gun should I upgrade first?

Frostbite or the Ray Gun from the Mystery Box. If the box refuses, punch a wall keeper such as the K1A or MP5, not the starter M9.

Do wall guns still take ammo from the wall after Pack-a-Punch?

Yes. Box guns do not; they need Max Ammo. Reload before you pick the drop so the magazine is empty and reserves fill.

Which badges involve this machine?

Upgrade is the Pack-a-Punch use. Lock and Load is a wall buy. The Box is a Mystery Box spin. A single Graduation match can grab all three.
