Project Lazarus ZOMBIES Round scaling
Health, sprint, and spawn caps so you know when a wall gun dies and when the train is the only plan.
Every Project Lazarus ZOMBIES round is the same three sliders moving at once: how much HP a zombie has, how fast it runs, and how many the director will spawn before the round can end. Guns and perks are how you answer those sliders. This page is the sliders. Use it with the points guide (what a kill pays) and high-round strategy (what to do when the sliders win).
These numbers have been stable through Honey Badger, RPG-7, Foam, and the Model 1887 update. Patches buff weapons; they have not rewritten the 150 HP opener or the 24-zombie map cap.
Health
Round 1 zombies spawn at 150 HP. For the first nine rounds, health adds a flat +100 per round (round 2 = 250, round 9 = 950). From round 10 onward health is 950 × 1.1^(round − 9) — a 10% compound. That is why a gun that one-taps heads on round 12 feels like a pea-shooter on round 30 even if “you only went up 18 rounds.”
| Round | HP | Round | HP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 150 | 15 | 1,683 |
| 2 | 250 | 20 | 2,710 |
| 5 | 550 | 30 | 7,030 |
| 9 | 950 | 40 | 18,235 |
| 10 | 1,045 | 50 | 47,296 |
| 12 | 1,264 | 75 | 512,437 |
| 13 | 1,391 | 100 | 5,552,109 |
Knife one-hit territory is round 1. After that you are chipping. Wall SMGs and the starting Beretta fall off in the teens. Packed wonder weapons and launchers are how people still delete a 7,030 HP zombie on round 30. If a new shotgun such as the Model 1887 “does no damage,” compare its pellet floor to this table, not to a round-8 demo.
Speed
Round 1 walk is 6.5. Speed adds +0.5 per round and caps at 11 on round 10. From round 10 forward, zombies do not get a new sprint stat; they only get thicker. For reference, you walk about 14 with a light gun (handgun-class mobility). Sprint is a short 50% burst with the weapon down, so the gap over a full-speed zombie is real but not infinite — especially in Graduation stairs.
| Round | Zombie speed |
|---|---|
| 1 | 6.5 |
| 4 | 8.0 |
| 7 | 9.5 |
| 9 | 10.5 |
| 10+ | 11.0 |
If a train started catching you on round 7, that is still the ramp, not the cap. If it started catching you on round 22, you are holding a heavy gun (mobility tax) or cutting corners the how to train page tells you not to cut. Speed is not why round 40 is hard; health is.
On-map cap and spawn counts
At most 24 zombies exist on the map at once. The director pauses spawns until you make a hole. That is why a nuke feels like a breath: it clears the 24, pays 400 points, and then the rest of the round’s budget walks in. It is also why camping a doorway on round 35 still eventually floods — you are not reducing the round’s total, only the simultaneous count.
Round spawn totals scale with player count and stop increasing at or after round 30:
| Lobby size | Round 30+ spawn total |
|---|---|
| 1 player | 100 |
| 2 players | 175 |
| 3–4 players | 265 |
| 5–6 players | 350 |
Early rounds are much smaller (solo round 1 is 6 zombies). A six-player public lobby is the harshest curve: more bodies per round, same 24 on the floor, same 11 speed. Power-ups also thin out as rounds climb, so you cannot plan a Max Ammo every train. See power-ups.
What this means for loadouts
- Rounds 1–7: Knife and boards, then a cheap wall gun. Speed is not full. Health is still in the hundreds. This is the getting started window.
- Rounds 8–15: Speed cap hits at 10. You want Juggernog and a real gun. Box spins start to make sense. Pellet shotguns and high-multiplier rifles still one-shot heads; pistols do not.
- Rounds 16–30: Health crosses 2,000 then 7,000. Pack-a-Punch is no longer optional. Trains beat camps because 24 bodies in a closet is a down.
- Round 30+: Spawn totals freeze; HP does not. Round 50 is ~47k HP. Round 100 is millions. Only stacked modules, wonder weapons, and clean trains from high-round strategy belong here.
When a patch adds a gun, re-rank it against this HP column, not against the last camo drop. The weapon tier list is the argument; this table is the ruler. If your squad is still debating walkspeed scripts to outrun 11, that is the scripts hub, and it is a ban — you already walk 14 with a light gun if you holster the LMG.
Print the health column, remember 24 and 11, and stop being surprised when round 30 hits like a different game. It is the same game; the 10% compound just finished eating your wall SMG.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for perks, Mystery Box pulls, and high-round survival.
How much HP does a round-1 zombie have?
150. Then +100 per round through round 9 (950). Round 10 starts the 10% compound (1,045 and up).
When do zombies reach full speed?
Round 10. They start at 6.5 and add 0.5 per round, capping at 11. You walk about 14 with a light gun.
Why do I only see 24 zombies?
That is the on-map cap. The rest of the round is queued. Nukes clear the 24 and let the queue in. See power-ups.
Do more players add more zombies?
Yes. Spawn totals scale with lobby size and stop rising at or after round 30 (100 solo, 350 in a six-stack).
When should I stop camping?
Once 24 full-speed zombies can surround a doorway — usually the mid teens. Switch to a train: how to train.
Did health change in 2026?
Not in the published curve. Model 1887 buffed a shotgun, not zombie HP. Confirm patches on the changelog.
