Project Lazarus ZOMBIES Power-Ups
Five drops, a four-per-round cap, and a Nuke that pays 400 to everyone still standing.
Killed zombies in Project Lazarus: ZOMBIES can drop one of five power-ups. The orbs work for the whole team when anyone (including a downed crawler) touches them. They flash at 15 seconds left and vanish after a fast flash window. The place has used this five-drop kit since 28 June 2016. Six-player co-op, no codes, same drops on Graduation and Research.
Power-ups are not a loadout and not a game pass. They are a round economy. How they feed your bank is why the points tool exists. How they fail to save a bad train is why high-round strategy still tells you to loop. Zombie HP and spawn delay by wave sit on round scaling. Gun choice during Insta-Kill is also a loadouts problem. Map rooms are on maps. Box ammo is on weapons. The players hub is the body picking the orb up.
The five drops
Carpenter. Rebuilds every barrier that was already damaged when the effect starts. Extra breaks during the rebuild do not get a second pass. After the map is boarded, everyone alive gets 200 points. Carpenter only tries to drop if five or more windows are fully smashed; otherwise the game substitutes another orb. Do not grab it if every board is already healthy unless you just want the 200. Grab it instantly on a shredded high round.
Double Points. 30 seconds of double payouts on kills, boards, and even the cash from other orbs. Stacking another Double Points adds 30 seconds. Always touch this before a sitting Nuke or Carpenter so those payouts double (800 and 400). Knife and headshot during the window; the points math jumps hard.
Insta-Kill. 30 seconds of one-hit kills for the whole team, including knives. Extra +10 on the kill payout. This is a wonder-ammo trap. Frostbite and Ray Gun magazines are precious; Max Ammo is rare on late rounds. Knife. If you must shoot, use a pistol dump gun or the starting M9. Do not empty Iscariot’s Kiss into zombies that would die to V. Extra Insta-Kill orbs extend the timer.
Max Ammo. Refills reserves for everyone. Magazines in the gun stay as they are, so reload after you touch it if you were empty. This is the orb that makes S-tier wonders legal at round 40. Call it. Do not let it despawn in a window you already walked away from.
Nuke (Nuclear Bomb). Kills zombies that had already spawned when the orb appeared. Everyone alive gets 400 points (800 under Double Points). Zombies the Nuke kills do not drop more orbs. Wait until the cap of 24 is on the map if you can do it without dying. Touching a Nuke at the start of a round with two zombies spawned is a waste of both the wipe and the 400.
Drop rate, especially late
Two systems feed orbs:
- A flat 2 percent roll on a valid kill.
- A shared team-points meter that guarantees a drop after enough collective score. The threshold scales about 2000 × 1.14^round, so late rounds ask for a much fatter meter.
Rules on top: max four drops per round. Kills outside the playable space do not count. Nuke kills do not count. That is why late games feel dry: the guaranteed meter is huge, the four-cap is still four, and you need Max Ammo more than ever. Plan trains as if no Max Ammo will spawn, then treat one as a bonus that lets you keep dumping the Ray Gun.
Insta-Kill versus wonder ammo
Wonder weapons are the S-tier on the weapons tier list because they delete trains, not because they are free. Insta-Kill makes every gun — and the knife — a wonder for half a minute. Spending Frostbite cylinders in that window is how public lobbies go dry before round 30. The correct order: hear the announcer, swap to M9 or a wall pistol, knife what you can, shoot only to save a downed teammate. Save the freeze revolver for when HP is in the thousands and Insta-Kill is gone.
Double Points plus Insta-Kill plus knife is the richest early-round farm (up to 280 a zombie). Late-round, the same combo is still a farm, but the drop chance for the next Max Ammo did not get nicer. Spend the timer on points and boards, not on showing off splash.
Carpenter plus a library train is extra: boards come back, 200 cash, zombies path through windows again instead of open holes. Nuke plus a packed test chamber on Research is a reset when the teleporter dumped a wad on the pad.
There is no sixth drop. There is no Fire Sale. There is no code that spawns Max Ammo. Pick the orb on purpose, especially when Insta-Kill is yelling at you to waste the only magazines that still matter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for perks, Mystery Box pulls, and high-round survival.
What power-ups exist in Project Lazarus ZOMBIES?
Five: Carpenter, Double Points, Insta-Kill, Max Ammo, and Nuke. Nuke pays 400 points to every living player.
Why do drops feel rarer after round 30?
The team-points threshold grows with the round (about 2000 × 1.14^round), kills outside the map do not count, and a round still caps at four orbs.
Should I shoot the Ray Gun during Insta-Kill?
No. Knife or dump a pistol. Wonder reserves only come back from Max Ammo, which gets rarer as rounds scale.
Do Nuke kills spawn more power-ups?
No. Zombies the Nuke wipes cannot drop orbs. Wait for a dense cap of 24 if you can survive the wait.
Should I grab Double Points or Nuke first if both are down?
Double Points first so the Nuke's 400 becomes 800. Same rule for Carpenter's 200 becoming 400.
Can I redeem a code for Max Ammo?
No. There is no redeem UI. Max Ammo is a drop, not a store item or game pass.
